A bouquet of honey blossom and caramel apple teases the senses, offering a preview of the wine’s sumptuous palate. Vibrant fruit and floral nuances evolve into deeper layers of honeycomb and stone fruit that glide across the palate. Subtle notes of citrus buttercream and guava add complexity, leading to a long-lasting finish.

Just north of the Arroyo Mocho Creek, our Big Rock Creek Vineyard boasts two blocks with an east-west orientation. At this site, the vines are VSP trellised (Vertical Shoot Position) to ensure uniform sun exposure, promoting even ripening. The vineyard derives its name from the substantial rocks deposited by this ancient tributary. The terroir in this area is distinctive, featuring elevated water-retaining gravel and clay soil, making it particularly well-suited for cultivating Chardonnay.
Smaller yields across the Valley made for a high-quality vintage with incredible concentration. A wet 2023 and spring rains in 2024 led to fewer, smaller berries, packing in more flavor and structure. Some heat spikes in September kept us on our toes, but we navigated them smoothly to preserve balance. While the crop was lighter, the result is bold, intensely flavored wines that are built to shine.
