The Malbec grapes come from our Estate Block 10. This block is 9.8 acres and is located behind the winery about 200 yards west of our Block 7 Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard.
After a dry winter the 2020 growing season began with typical temperatures and normal timing for bud break and flowering. As summer progressed, there were some heat waves and we experienced poor air quality from the Complex Fires during the fall months. Fortunately, the smoke was not heavy enough in Livermore Valley to impact our grapes. The quality fruit produced balance wines with great acidity although the yields were slightly below average.
